THE CONTEXT
Zago S.p.A. - part of the Ferretti Group and renowned for its custom yacht interiors - shared with us a strategic ambition: exploring how AI, AR and emerging technologies could enhance operations across their shipyard. The goal was to minimize errors during furniture installation, optimize coordination during yacht construction, and improve the overall efficiency of project management workflows.
THE ACTIVITY
Within the framework of our R&D Project, we launched a dedicated exploration focused on tracking activities and site-ops orchestration. Through on-site discovery sessions, co-design workshops, and iterative design sprints, we mapped key friction points and outlined where emerging technologies could bring tangible improvements.
THE OUTCOME
The process led to the definition of three AI-powered systems for ticketing, order monitoring, and supplier tracking, as well as two AR applications that enabled full-scale furniture visualization and real-time assembly guidance. These solutions created a seamless connection between design and execution, reducing delays, rework, and operational overhead.
